Privacy policy

Last updated 28 September 2026. This is a draft and is being reviewed by a lawyer before SparkyBuddy's paid launch.

Kimsha Family Trust trading as SparkyBuddy ("SparkyBuddy", "we") handles personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

What we collect

• Your account details: name, email, business name, ABN, licence number and contact details.
• Business records you enter: your clients' names, addresses, phone numbers and emails, jobs, quotes, invoices, certificates and test results.
• Photos, plans and files you upload to jobs, and supplier price files you upload.
• Basic technical information such as sign-in times and error logs, used to keep the service secure and working.
• An activity log for each business: who signed in (with the IP address) and who created, changed, sent or archived records. The business's owners can see it; we use it only to keep accounts secure and to help when something goes wrong.

How we use it

• To run SparkyBuddy for you: store your records, create documents and send emails you ask us to send.
• To support you when you contact us, and to tell you about changes to the service.
• To keep the service secure, and to meet our legal obligations.
• To show suppliers combined figures, such as how many businesses saw or clicked their specials, or the total spend filed with them across at least three businesses. These figures never name you or your clients.

We don't sell your data, and we don't use your or your clients' data to train AI models.

Your clients' information

When you store your clients' details in SparkyBuddy, you remain responsible for collecting them properly. We store and process them on your behalf, only to provide the service to you.

Where it is stored

Your records are stored with service providers in Australia (Sydney) where available. Photos and files are stored privately and are only available to your business and to people you send a link to. Some providers we use (for example, for email delivery) may process data overseas.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to host the app and database, store files, and send email. They only get the information they need to provide their service to us.

Access, correction and deletion

You can view and export your data at any time from Settings. To correct or delete information, or to close your account and have your data deleted, email hello@sparkybuddy.com.au.

Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, email us first and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising cookies. If we add analytics, we will use a privacy-friendly service and update this policy.
