AI receptionist

Hannah, your AI receptionist, answers the calls you can't get to. She books your quick jobs in, takes a message for the rest and puts emergencies straight through to you.
Who answers when you can't
Three ways to deal with the calls you miss on the tools.
Free
Typically about $2 to $5 a minute
$49 a month, 80 minutes of calls included
Answering service prices vary; this is a typical range for Australian services charged by the minute.
On every call
Only the calls you miss (busy, no answer or no signal), or every call. You choose.
Your services, the area you cover and your hours, from your public page. Prices only if your page shows them, and only as "from" prices.
Smoke alarm replacements, a new power point: the quick jobs you pick go straight into a free time in your calendar, and the customer gets a text to confirm.
Name, address, what they need and when suits. It lands in Requests, ready for you to call back.
Once a caller confirms their name and street, she tells them the day and time window of their booking. Calling from a number that isn't on file? She texts the details to the mobile you have for them instead.
No power, sparking, a burning smell, a shock, water near power or lines down: she gives the 000 line and one safety line, flags it urgent and puts the call through to your mobile.
Switch it on and callers who ask for a person are put through to your mobile. If nobody answers, she takes a message.
The recording, a summary and the transcript, with urgent calls flagged. You get a phone notification, and an email for messages and urgent calls.
A sample call
Hannah
Hi, you've reached Bright Spark Electrical. Just so you know, this call is recorded. I'm Hannah, the virtual receptionist. How can I help?
Caller
Hi. One of my smoke alarms keeps beeping, and I'd like them all replaced. Can someone come out?
Hannah
We can do that. Can I get your name, please?
Caller
Sarah.
Hannah
Thanks, Sarah. And the address for the job, street and suburb?
Caller
14 Example Street, Springfield.
Hannah
Thanks. I've got Thursday between 8 and 10am, or Friday between 1 and 3pm. Do either of those suit?
Caller
Thursday morning's good.
Hannah
So that's smoke alarm replacement at 14 Example Street, Springfield, on Thursday between 8 and 10am. Is that right?
Caller
Yep, that's right.
Hannah
You're booked in. You'll get a text to confirm. Is there anything else I can help with?
Caller
No, that's it. Thanks.
Hannah
Thanks for calling Bright Spark Electrical. Bye for now.

Sneak peek · Coming soon
She isn't answering calls yet. This is a first look at setting her up in SparkyBuddy, from greeting to booking times.
Your settings
Set it up once in Settings. Change it whenever you like.
Only the ones you miss, or every call.
Where urgent calls are put through. After hours, to whoever's on call (Sparky Plus plan and up).
Only your quick jobs. Everything else becomes a message.
She only books inside your hours, and you can narrow them further.
Put callers who ask for a person through to you, or have her take a message.
Switch her off in Settings and turn off call forwarding on your phone.
Safe and upfront
It's the first thing she says, before anything else.
"I'm Hannah, the virtual receptionist." She never pretends to be a person, and if anyone asks, she says yes, she's an AI.
She tells them: "If anyone is hurt, has had a shock, or there's a fire or power lines down, please hang up and call triple zero, 000, now." Then the call is flagged urgent and put through to your mobile. You hear "Urgent call from Hannah. Connecting now."
The only safety advice she gives is: "If it's safe to do so, turn the power off at the switchboard and keep everyone clear." She doesn't quote work nobody has seen, take payments or tell anyone how to fix anything.
She never reads out an address or a phone number, and never talks about other customers. A booking is only mentioned after the caller confirms their name and street.
How it works
In Settings, AI receptionist: pick which calls, add your mobile for emergencies and check your quick jobs. She gets her own Australian number.
Dial your phone company's forwarding code on your mobile (it's shown on the settings page). Customers keep ringing the same number.
Bookings land in your calendar, messages in Requests, and every call in Calls with the recording, summary and transcript.
Hannah has a natural Australian voice and talks in short, plain sentences, one question at a time. She's still an AI, and she says so at the start of every call.
Yes. Every call starts with "this call is recorded" and "I'm Hannah, the virtual receptionist". If a caller asks whether she's a real person, she tells them she's an AI.
She gives the 000 line if anyone's hurt or there's a fire or lines down, then the one safety line about turning the power off at the switchboard. She flags the call urgent and puts it straight through to your mobile, or after hours to whoever's on call (Sparky Plus plan and up). You also get an urgent notification and email straight away, so you can ring back if you miss it.
Set her to answer only the calls you miss, and your phone rings as usual first. You can also have her put callers through to you when they ask for a person, or switch her off any time.
Yes. Customers keep ringing your usual number. You forward it to her number with your phone company's code, and you can stop forwarding whenever you like.
No. She only says the prices your public page shows, as "from" prices, and says you'll confirm the price once you've seen the job. Apart from the one safety line, she never gives technical or repair advice.
They're in Calls for you and your office staff, with the summary and transcript. Recordings are deleted after 90 days and transcripts after a year.
